Health coaching is a rapidly growing field of expertise and its benefits are increasingly being recognised worldwide.

Research shows that it can be a really effective tool to use as a preventative health measure and to effectively treat a myriad of health, lifestyle, and nutrition/diet related conditions and chronic illnesses. What is health coaching/health coach?

Health coaching is about exploration and working in partnership with clients.

The coaching process is very much a co-creation between coach and client.

It is not prescriptive or being told what to do.

Health coaches are trained to listen, guide, and support clients with the aim for clients to make the positive changes they want to see in their lives and which will improve their wellbeing.

Every client’s needs and circumstances are different and the role of a health coach is to work with clients and their specific needs, utilising their knowledge and training and at the same time offering accountability to clients throughout the process.

My approach

My approach is holistic in focus and I am an advocate of preventative and proactive lifestyle practices to promote and sustain good health and optimise wellness. See the ‘My Vision’ section below for more details about my ethos and approach.

As a health coach I seek to develop a client/therapist relationship based on trust and openness and to provide support, guidance, and information to help clients create the positive change they want in their life and help them achieve their desired goals.

This can be achieved in a wide variety of ways; from diet, nutrition, and eating habits, to fitness and exercise routines, and/or through a multitude of other lifestyle factors, depending on what is required.

It is a very individual process and the benefit of working with a health coach is that the coaching plans and advice are specifically tailoured and adapted for the individual throughout the health coaching process to enable clients to find a sustainable route/path to more optimal health outcomes.

My aim is for clients to ultimately see themselves as experts in their own wellbeing and to empower them to be proactive in their health related decisions and outcomes.

A holistic approach acknowledges there are a wide range of aspects within our lives and at various levels - physically, emotionally, mentally - that affect our wellbeing. To achieve true wellbeing involves finding/restoring balance between these many aspects on an individual basis.

Health Promoting

Doing things that actively promote good health and prevent bodily deterioration is part of preventative healthcare. From eating a nutritious, well- balanced diet, keeping active, getting good quality sleep and managing stress, it can extend in many other ways, such as changing up your fitness routines, improving your gut health, strengthening the immune system or liver, limiting exposure to pollutants, and being proactive in one’s own mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing
